Message from the Principal

Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,

It’s almost December and I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on some of the exciting things that are happening here at AOHT before the holiday season sneaks up on us.

Here is a sample of some of the exciting things that have happened since September:

• College Fair – 21 Colleges were here!
• Visit to Cornell University
• Breast Cancer Walk Participation
• Carpe Diem Program ready to Launch in January – Collaboration with CUNY New York City Technical College
• College Now Courses for Juniors and Seniors
• All constituents of the school voted to increase AOHT’s promotion standards
• Four Students Presented at the National Career Academy Coalition Conference in Philadelphia with Ms. Francis
• The Erasmus Hall Swim Team had a Fantastic Second Season (This Team was launched by Ms. Downing – our Dean, last year)
• The Bowling Team had a Fantastic First Season with AOHT Students on the Team(This Team was launched by AOHT this year)
• Our Erasmus Hall Football Team is Only ONE WIN AWAY from playing in the NEW YORK CITY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH! (Of course, I can’t forget to mention that ALL of the stars of this team are AOHT students!)

Here are some things to look forward to:

• November 26 & 27 – Thanksgiving Recess
• November 30 – First Day of Marking Period 3
• December 16 – Parent Association Meeting
• December 24 – January 1 – Winter Recess
• January 4 – Students Return to School from Winter Recess
• January 18 – No School – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• January 26 – 29 – REGENTS EXAMS***************

Please remember to make sure your child is dressed according to our Dress Code (“Dress for Success” on Mondays and Wednesdays and “School Shirt” on Tuesdays and Thursdays – Friday is our “Dress Down” day). Please contact Ms. Tamika Hardwick, our Parent Coordinator, if you have any questions about how to obtain our school shirt.

Also, please know that there are many links on our school’s website to multiple studying resources for your children as they prepare for their Regents Exams. AOHT’s website address is: http://aohterasmushall.org. If you do not have a computer at home, there are many computers in the school your children can use to study, as well as in public libraries around New York City.

I hope to see you at the December Parent Association meeting. Of course, if you are unable to attend that meeting and would like to make an appointment to meet with me, feel free to call my secretary to make that appointment or email me (my email address is below, next to my name).
