Message from the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians and AOHT Community Members,

 

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year!  It is an honor to serve as your principal and continue providing our students the services that set our school apart from the rest. 

 

I am proud to announce some of our accomplishments from last year.

 

• AOHT was the first school in the New York City to send 9^th grade students to a paid summer internship with the Marriott Corporation.
• AOHT sent students to job-shadowing events on sixteen occasions.  These events involved taking tours of some of the largest, most successful corporations in the world.
• AOHT’s dance club was highlighted at the Working Playground Exposition as one of their two BEST clubs in all of New York City.
• AOHT conducted two school wide fairs of model student work.

 

I am also proud to announce that we will begin our culinary program this year and expand our job-shadowing opportunities for students.  This is a truly exciting time at AOHT.  We will not only continue the great services we provided last year but also add classes to our business sequence and business and social events to our calendar.

 

I invite you to actively participate in our community – initially by attending our first Parent Association Meeting on September 19, 2007 at 7:00 PM.  This meeting will be held in our school’s restaurant in room 1W38.  I also hope that you will visit the school’s website at http://aohterasmushall.org.  On our website you will be able to find our school calendar, links to NYCDOE resources, and links to academic resources for your children as they work towards success.
